Well, I finally did it. I finally went and bought myself the car of my dreams. I know that most of you will not understand when you see it, but believe me, I've wanted a hearse for over 15 years.
This one pretty much fell into my lap. It was a mechanic's special that my husband was able to pick up for me for very little cash. The funeral home was no longer using it as it is a 1967 Miller Meteor and they had too many newer hearses to choose from that they really didn't feel comfortable with putting this one into operation. Plus, when they brought it by, it didn't run. Little did they know that it was just a fuel pump! One simple trip to the junkyard and my baby was resurrected from the grave!
Now, I'm so happy that I'm floating on air. I love it, and can't wait for Halloween to give all the little kiddies rides around town. I'll be sure to have a casket full of candy in the back to sweeten the ride!

That's cool! One day I hope to use it to go to all of my book signings. I'm just waiting on someone to agree to publish it. Till then, I cruise on...
Wow what a pic!!
It's a side of me that you get used to after awhile...hee hee!
Ya know, I've always wanted a hearse as well. And to get such a classic! I must admit to wanting one of the somewhat boring newer ones you can pick up fairly reasonably (for a converted Cadillac or whatever) on the used specialty vehicle market.
I agree with you. I love them all and feel bad when I see a funeral and all I can do is say "Oooo, look at the hearse!"
*ROFL* Can all the kids fit in there? LOL
If they wanted to roll around in the back, they certainly could! But this is just for me and Little Chris to cruise around in during the day, and for solitary night cruises!
I wanted a hearse for a very long time. There's lots of room for groceries. I wanted a black one.
I was hoping to find a black one myself, and upon inspecting the hearse when we got it, we found that black was its original color, and the white was a repaint! So, I think after the minor body work is done, it will be restored to its original black beauty.
